š 2024: Pickleballās year of unstoppable growth
What a year itās been for pickleball! If 2024 taught us anything, itās that this sport is no longer just a backyard pastimeāitās a full-blown recreational phenomenon.
Letās start with the numbers: over 36.5 million players in the U.S., with cities like New York adding dedicated courts faster than you can say āthird shot drop.ā
From urban hotspots to suburban parks, finding a place to play has never been easierāor more competitive (sorry, tennis players, weāre taking over).
Speaking of competition, the Minto US OPEN in Naples, Florida, drew over 3,000 players and a whopping 50,000 fans. Recreational players showed up in droves, proving this sport isnāt just for the prosāitās for everyone.
And the players? Theyāre younger than ever.
The 18-34 age group now leads the charge, making up nearly 29% of players. The sportās mix of fun, fitness, and social vibes is reeling in a whole new generation.
Plus, pickleball still keeps its reputation as the most welcoming game on the block, where everyoneānewbies and veterans alikeācan find their place.
Not bad for a game that started in someoneās driveway!
Of course, thereās drama too. Tennis vs. pickleball turf wars made headlines, with courts being repurposed and tensions running high. But hey, whatās growth without a little friction?
2024 was epic. Hereās to more dinks, drives, and big wins in 2025! š

Spin, speed, style: Meet the Invader
Hey, Pickleheads readers, Stephen here. š
If youāre an intermediate or advanced player looking to take your game up a notch, I wanted to hop in here real quick to tell you about the Bread and Butter Invader.
This paddle is all about spin, speed, and styleāperfect for aggressive players who love to dominate at the kitchen line.
The Invaderās standout feature is its spin, easily on par with top-tier paddles. From wickedly dipping drives to sharp, spin-loaded drops, the Invader keeps your opponents guessing.
Itās also lightning-quick at the net, making it ideal for hand battles and those fast-paced exchanges. Plus, the titanium-infused face doesnāt just enhance performanceāit looks incredible, with a sleek design that turns heads.
That said, power players and beginners might want to think twice. The Invader thrives in finesse and spin but can feel a little underpowered from the baseline.
It also takes a bit of getting used to, so donāt expect to master it straight out of the box.
Bottom line? If you love playing an aggressive, spin-heavy game, the Invader is worth every penny. Just be ready to invest some time into unlocking its full potential.
If the Bread and Butter Invader sounds like your thing, you can get 15% off with the code PICKLEHEADS15, which I know is the best discount out there.
