4,177,700+

Did you know there’s been over 4,177,700 games organized on Pickleheads?

That’s millions of rallies, laughs, and questionable line calls. And yes, probably millions of missed third shot drops too.

Suspect of pickleball net sabotage

📸 KATU

Last week we shared the bizarre story of someone cutting pickleball nets at parks in Pennsylvania. Well… police now say they found the culprit — and the alleged motive somehow makes the whole thing even stranger.

According to police, a 31-year-old man allegedly slashed multiple pickleball and tennis nets across two local parks after suffering a leg injury that left him on crutches and unable to play this summer.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed the suspect hobbling around the courts before cutting the nets, and police say he later admitted to damaging five different nets.

Honestly, there’s something almost darkly comedic about the idea of being so devastated by a pickleball injury that your response is essentially: “If I can’t play, nobody can.”

That said… cutting down community courts is a brutal move, especially with how hard many local players fight to get court space in the first place.

The suspect now faces criminal mischief charges.

Moral of the story? Stretch properly after rec play. And maybe don’t declare war on the nets if your calf gives out.

😂 Is this the most petty revenge story in pickleball history?

🎬 Hollywood stars hit the courts for the Emmys Pickleball Slam

The Television Academy just hosted its second annual “Emmys Pickleball Slam” fundraiser at Calabasas Pickleball Club. And the guest list looked more like an awards afterparty than open play.

Celebrities including Wayne Brady, Phil Keoghan, Sugar Ray Leonard, and actors from shows like Grey’s Anatomy and BMF all grabbed paddles for the charity event benefiting the Television Academy Foundation.

🤖 Major League Pickleball just introduced AI line calling

MLP has officially launched its first-ever AI officiating system, using broadcast cameras and cloud-based tracking technology to help make line calls in real time.

The system was developed with OWL AI and is designed to improve accuracy and reduce controversial calls during matches.

Meanwhile in rec play, we still trust the guy who says “pretty sure it clipped the line” from 40 yards away.
