🤔 Could you pull off this trick shot?
This week’s epic point is over in a matter of seconds because of this insane trick shot. I mean, it sent his opponent for an early shower.

Want to play better pickleball? And get hands-on coaching from top pros?
Oh and all without leaving your house…
I mean… who doesn’t?!
Well it’s all possible at the Pickleball Summit – an online event running July 14-16 that features 25 top pros discussing shots, strategy and how to up your game.
And the best part? It’s 100% FREE.
I just checked the schedule and here are the top sessions I’ll be attending:
Beat Bangers With This One Shot
Unlocking Precision: Using a “Governor” for a Steller Third Shot
Get The Offensive Serve You Want
Normally you’d have to pay $650+ and travel to attend a live event for this level of coaching. And even then you’d only hear from 1-2 pros max.
I don’t know of another event offering this level of free coaching and instruction.
Over 15,000 people attended last year and it’s easy to see why.
CJ and Tony of Better Pickleball runs the summit. I’ve known her for years and she’s one of the best when it comes to teaching pickleball to beginners and intermediates.
Free access passes expire on 7/16 so grab your spot if any of these sessions look interesting to you 👇
P.S. You’ll get a free 34-page summit playbook when you register
🤾♀️ 5 beginner mistakes that are ruining your game
Hey Pickleheads readers,
Kyle, AKA, ThatPickleballGuy, here with my LevelUp tip this week.
Whether you’re stepping on to the court for the 1st, 15th, or 150th time, we as pickleball players are all prone to mistakes.
Hey, even the top pro’s still make mistakes, right?
Here are the top 5 mistakes I see most pickleball players make and how to avoid them…
#1 Serve and stay
Instead of stepping in after your serve, stay where you are!
If you step in, then they hit a deep return, you’ll have to move back and hit off your back foot. That’s not good!
Instead, stay put, (or even take a step back after serving). After you let the return bounce, you can move forward to hit your next shot.
#2 Master the third shot drop
Beginners often drive the third shot too much, yes that’s a thing!
Instead, practice the third shot drop to land the ball in the kitchen.
This gives you time to advance to the net and play the point at the kitchen line.
#3 Stand strong at the Kitchen Line
Avoid being sporadic at the kitchen line. Stay balanced and ready to volley, which prevents pop-ups and keeps you in control during dinking battles.
#4 Use a Punch technique
Avoid unnecessarily big swings.
Instead, use a punch technique for shots around your forehead and below.
This improves control and reduces errors into the net.
#5 Be open-minded and seek feedback
Continuously learn and seek advice from the more experienced players at the court.
Bonus: Keep your paddle in a ready position
Maintain your paddle slightly below your face at the kitchen line.
If your paddle is down, and they hit it near your chest area. You’ll have to bring the paddle up to hit the ball. That’s inefficient.
Hope that helps!
Here’s a video of Kyle taking you through this week’s tip 👇
🌟 Jamie Foxx’s fascination with pickleball speeds up his recovery
Jamie Foxx’s resilient comeback after a health-scare which left him hospitalized, was helped by his enthusiasm for pickleball, his daughter recently revealed.
Corrine Foxx, 30, who co-hosts the musical game show “Beat Shazam” with her father says “he’s playing a lot of pickleball”.
🧳 Lawsuit: pickleball courts causing ‘unbearable conditions’
This city is being sued for the noise created by pickleball players at its recreational center courts, according to a lawsuit filed last Thursday.
The suit, brought by five residents, alleges that the noise has exceeded “all reasonable standards” and is depriving them of “quiet enjoyment of their homes and outdoor spaces.”
🏓 The top pickleball players to look out for In 2024
We don’t cover the pro-game too much here…
But this recent article from Forbes not only highlights the pro players to look out for but what it takes (and the associated costs) to go pro!
Nobu Hotel, Los Cabos, Mexico
You’ll find this week’s dreamiest of Dream Courts on the site of the Nobu Hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Imagine a few games in the Baja desert with the setting sun as backdrop followed by a few cocktails in the setting sun…for rehydration purposes, of course.
We hear there’s two courts which are a hot property among guests, and you can reserve them for open play or private lessons.
Are titanium paddles the future?!
This might be the coolest paddle on the market right now…
I’m talking about Bread & Butter’s new paddle – the Shogun.
It’s the only paddle I’ve seen made with titanium (plus raw carbon).
So is titanium for real? Or is it just a marketing gimmick?
After 2 weeks of testing this paddle I can say titanium paddles are indeed the real deal.
Y’all know one of my favorite paddles is the Bread & Butter Filth. This one plays similarly – but it’s less stiff, less harsh and has a friendly, intuitive feel you’ll like from the first shot.
And it’s got everything you’d expect from raw carbon paddles – big power, and big spin. But now you get more control and a unique feel.
I suspect we’ll see more titanium paddles launched this year. But for now, the Shogun is the only one on the market and one of my favorite new paddles.
Plus the Japanese samurai branding + unboxing experience is 🤌
If you do check out the Shogun, grab 15% off with my code PICKLEHEADS. Just note the B&B team told me these will likely stock out again this week.

The best deal in pickleball?
A few months back, I told you about the best deal in all of pickleball…
It’s the Friday Original Paddle.
Well, they’ve just made it even better for the 4th of July holiday!
Now, you can get 2 Friday original paddles for $99, plus they’re throwing in a free USA paddle cover with every purchase as well!!
You can get one for a friend, or if you’re like me… get 2 for yourself 😈
They have 8 cool designs you can mix and match on the deal.
The more I play with this paddle, the more I’m amazed how close to a $200+ paddle it plays.
You can finish points, hit big spin and even land those tedious drop shots you’ve been working on.
The Friday has all the top paddle tech – carbon fiber, thermoforming, high surface grit.
On paper, it looks just like a JOOLA paddle. And it really plays like one.
Try one out and you’ll see what I mean. You seriously don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to get a great paddle anymore!
I like the colorful design too. More people at my courts are noticing this paddle and asking me about it. The secret’s getting out!
If you want a fun new paddle to try over 4th of July while enjoying the nice weather, check out this deal 👇
Deal auto-applied in the link above. Make sure to add 2 paddles to your cart to claim the deal!
