Hey Pickleheads readers,
One of the worst pieces of pickleball advice I see is to drive the ball when it’s short.
Just because the ball is short does not mean it can be driven.
If the ball is really short AND low, you really can’t drive the ball–it’s tough to clear the net while keeping it low and past your opponent.
Plus, you’re so close to the kitchen where a drop shot would be easier.
A great way to remember this is – short and high, drive it. Short and low, drop it!
