🤾♀️ Perfect your serve (in this order)
Excited as always to welcome back Kyle, creator of That Pickleball Guy, once again for this week’s Level Up.
Hey Pickleheads readers,
Kyle, That Pickleball Guy, here…
If you’re a beginner struggling with your serve or a player looking to improve your serve, this is a tip just for you!
To perfect your serve there are four areas to concentrate on and you want to work on them in this order…
#1 Consistency
The first key to a strong serve is consistency. Make sure your serves land in the court every time. Practice to reduce errors and ensure reliability.
#2 Depth
Aim to hit your serves deep into the opponent’s court. A deep serve pushes your opponent back, which keeps them away from the kitchen line.
#3 Placement
Target specific areas, such as your opponent’s backhand or wide angles.
Good placement can put your opponent in difficult positions, making it harder for them to return effectively.
#4 Power
While consistency, depth, and placement are crucial, adding power to your serve can make it even more challenging for your opponent to handle.
Drill and do these 4 things often enough, opponents will start thinking, “ah, not this serve again,” instead of feeling comfortable every time you go to serve!
Hope this helps.

Lake Kennedy Racquet Center, Florida
You’ll find this week’s dream court in Lake Kennedy Racquet Center, Cape Coral, Florida!
This new complex opened up just a few weeks ago and features a whopping 32, you heard that right, 32 courts! 😍
Now, I’ll be completely honest here…
I haven’t tested the Gamma Riley Newman 206 yet. But when JustPaddles reached out and let me know of this deal, I had to mention it.
I’ve heard the Riley Newman 206 has more spin than other Gamma paddles, not a ton, but more.
And, it’s good for power and pop, which means you may sacrifice some control.
Overall, it’s a quality paddle to try without breaking the bank.
Usually, the Gamma Riley Newman 206 would set you back $179.99, but currently at JustPaddles they’re offering 50% off 🤯
Plus, you get an extra 10% off with my code PICKLEHEADS.
You’re saving well over 50%, and you can get your hands on this paddle for just $80.99.
Now that’s a deal 👇

The best all-around paddle I’ve tested this year
I just wrapped my first 5-star paddle review this year:
The Engage Pursuit Pro1.
I’ll be honest… I’ve never been a fan of Engage paddles. But they knocked this one out of the park.
When you swing light, it plays like a control paddle. You can easily land drops and dinks.
But swing hard and it turns into a power paddle – you can rip hard drives and loads of spin.
I like it for any competitive player looking for an elite all-court paddle.
And if you were bummed about the banned JOOLA Gen 3 paddles – this is my top pick for your alternative.
The paddle isn’t cheap ($260) but a worthy investment if you’re leveling up your game.
If you do pick it up, use my code PICKLEHEADS to save 10% from JustPaddles.
P.S. Save 25% on this paddle by buying it blemished!
