š¤¾āāļø Play the kitchen line like a pro
Excited to welcome back Tanner Tomassi of Tanner Pickleball, for this weekās Level Up.
Hey Pickleheads readers,
Hereās a pickleball IQ tip thatāll have you playinā the kitchen line like a pro!
Say your partner is engaged in cross-court dinking with your opponents. Don't just stand idly at the kitchen line.
Instead, focus on reading both your partner's body language and the ballās trajectory the moment it leaves their paddle.
Is it a good dink, or have they popped it up? If itās a good dink, stay at the kitchen line.
If theyāve popped the ball up, you donāt want to stand at the kitchen line. You want to take as many steps back as you can before the ball crosses to your opponent's side.
That way, if your opponent goes on the offensive, youāve neutralized their attack by giving yourself much more space to react.
This is the difference between how a pro and an amateur play the kitchen line.
