🤾 Aim for your opponents feet OR body to draw errors!
Rahul, Pickleheads community manager and APP Top 150 player, is back once again with this week’s top tip…
Simple yet effective: Aim for your opponent’s feet OR body to force errors!
We love to hit overheads and easy putaways at the kitchen, but how do you do this consistently?
You’ve probably heard, hitting at our opponent’s feet is a good way to do this. It often draws pop ups from our opponent, right?
However, this isn’t the only spot to consistently draw pop ups and create easy putaways.
Aiming for the body (either the chest or lower body) of your opponents while attacking creates easy offensive opportunities for you and your partner.
This is because players are often sitting on their backhand, or covering their sides.
More often than not, players are leaving their body open to be attacked when in a defensive position!
So, rather than trying to pass your opponent or hit away from them, go right at their body! This delays their reactions, draws easy errors and you can then finish off the point!
Here’s a video of Rahul talking you through this week’s tip 👇
My favorite spin paddle for 2024
How important is spin to your game?
If you’re like me… spin is everything.
And if you want the best spin paddle, right now it’s the Diadem Edge 18K.
This paddle is a spin machine!
I’ll be honest when I read about the 18K technology it sounded like marketing jargon but…
This paddle really does spin unlike any paddle I’ve played with.
The idea is the carbon weave (what generates spin) works at every angle of contact, so you get more consistent spin.
It’s one of the few paddles you can swing like a tennis racquet with big topspin and still win games.
I love it on serves - you can swing extra hard and almost never miss one.
I always have this paddle in my bag. And I’m pleased to share you can save 10% on any of the Edge 18K models with my code PICKLEHEADS10.
Happy spinning!
