š Eisenhower pickleball courts back open...with special balls
šø The new signs at Eisenhower Park describing the pilot program. Catie Cheshire
After months of controversy surrounding the closure of Denver's Eisenhower Park pickleball courts, theyāve reopenedābut not without some quiet concessions.
Weāve been following this notorious saga closely, and now, under the new āQuiet Courtā pilot program, the courts require the use of special low-noise balls, in this case, The Librarian Foam Pickleball, invented by GAMMA.
The use of these balls is designed to reduce the impact on nearby residents.
But it doesnāt stop there, according to Westword, the program also enforces rules against shouting, cheering, and even playing music near the courts.
While some residents welcome the changes as a solution to neighborhood disputes, others wonder if this is still the pickleball they love.
The quieter balls may help with noise complaints, but can they truly soften the passion and energy that make pickleball so special?

My favorite paddle of 2024
I named the Six Zero DBD the best overall paddle in 2024.
I still think that BUTā¦ I like the new Six Zero DBD Infinity even better for my game š±
This paddle is the fastest Iāve ever played with. I have slow hands but with the Infinity, Iām finally winning hands battles.
Unlike other lighter paddles, though, you donāt lose anything on power (itās just a touch shy of the original DBD). And the spin is really, really good.
The paddle can do a little of everything and for me, makes the case for the best paddle of the year so far. I canāt get enough of playing with it.
