Big News: Pickleheads is growing—and we’re hiring!

Pickleheads Founders image

With this funding, we're going faster toward our mission: to provide the best on-court experience to YOU – the player – through technology. That means every game you join or organize on Pickleheads will be a good game – fun and competitive with players at your level.

Millions of players know us as the go-to court finder, but we’re quickly evolving into a complete platform to power rec play. This year you’ll see even better tools to make every game competitive, social, and fun—no matter your skill level.

With all this momentum, we’re expanding the team and looking for passionate people to help shape the future of rec play. If you love pickleball and want to make an impact, check out our open roles!

Epic point of the week

😍 This 92-year-old is out playing everyone!

This week’s Epic Point has been submitted by one of our subscribers. It's less about a crazy rally and more about pure inspiration.

Meet Eva, 92 years young and still outplaying the competition! She may not be hitting ATPs or Ernes, but she’s got something even better—unmatched grit and a game that keeps everyone on their toes.

Her friends say, “She gives us all a run for our money. We want to be like her when we grow up!” And after watching this point, we couldn’t agree more.

Eva, you’re a legend. 💪

Are you one of these players?

Accuskore image

You’ll find at least one of these players—or sometimes both—at most games. The one who confidently shouts out the wrong score in the middle of their serve. Or, the one who stops the game before serving to ask, “Wait, what’s the score again?”

These players either frustrate you, or…you could even be one of these players! But instead of second-guessing every point, why not keep track the easy way?

I’ve recently started using Accuskore. This wrist-worn scorekeeper makes tracking the game effortless—just a quick dial rotation, and you’re locked in.

No stopping, no guessing, no embarrassing mix-ups. And if you play at night or under lights, you’re all good.

  • Score tracking, simplified – Rotate clockwise, and you're good 🌀

  • Perfect for players and refs – Play or officiate with confidence 🎯

  • Indoor & outdoor ready – Night matches? No problem. 🌙

  • Server position made easy – No more confusion between points 🎾

Let’s be real—I needed this, I just didn’t know it until I tried it out.

Do the SQAIRZ XRZ™ live up to the price tag?

SQAIRZ XRZ™ image

A lot of players are on the hunt for pickleball-specific footwear, and SQAIRZ might just have cracked the code with their XRZ pickleball shoes.

But do the SQAIRZ XRZ™ live up to the $160 price tag?

Stephen’s been putting them to the test, and here’s what stood out:

SQAIRZ XRZ™ say they’ve spent the last three years developing these shoes on the courts with pickleball pros and ProXR Pickleball, and they might just be the most durable, stable pickleball shoe I’ve ever worn!

If you’ve ever felt off-balance, struggled with foot pain, or wished for more support on the court, these are worth a serious look.

SQAIRZ took a different approach than your typical court shoe.

A wider base. A square-toe design with a more structured fit.

The result? A very durable shoe with better stability, more energy transfer, and less foot fatigue.

They run a little big, however. And they’re a little heavier than some shoes, but that extra weight translates into more power in your movements and less strain on your joints.

If you need a stable, supportive shoe built for pickleball-specific movement, these are well worth trying out.

🫣 Pickleball: an ‘auditory assault’?

😲 Pickleball court fight dropped after petitioner's outburst

A group of pickleball players in North Saanich has dropped their legal fight against the district for closing popular courts last year after a pensioner's outburst at council reduced their chances of winning the case.

Former tennis legends such as Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Andy Roddick and Eugenie Bouchard have also acquired a taste for the pickleball paddle, enough so that they will be competing for a $1 million purse at Sunday’s Pickleball Slam 3: The Duel in the Desert.
