Some more huge news in the world of pickleball today as Adidas just dropped its new Metalbone series.
Last week, I got to chat with Rafa Hewett. Yeah, that Rafa, one of the top pickleball pros in the world.
Heās been working closely with Adidas on the new line. And trust me, heās fired up about it.
Rafaās weapon of choice? The Metalbone 14.5. Itās thinner than your typical 16mm paddle, giving him that extra pop on drives and volleys.
Heās also a big fan of the Spin Blade MAX surface, which he says grabs the ball ālike Spider-Man.ā
The coolest part, though? The adjustable weight system.
Rafa shifts weight to the throat for extra stability, then adds lead tape up top to amp up the topspin. Itās fully customizable and built for players who like to fine-tune their gear.
No doubt, itās built for power playersābut with the honeycomb core, you still get a soft feel on resets and dinks.
There are four paddles in the Metalbone lineup, including the Metalbone LP Team used by Mari Humburg. But if youāre a big hitter who likes to tinker, Rafa says the 14.5 is the one for you.
