Hey Pickleheads readers!
I was thinking about this the other day: what’s one of the most overlooked things in pickleball? Easy, communication.
Think about it, the player who’s hitting the ball knows immediately whether they’ve hit a good shot or a bad shot. Why? Because they can feel it AND see it.
Whereas their partner can only see if it’s a good or bad shot.
So, why not help your partner out and communicate. It’ll help them see counter attacks quicker and improve their reaction time.
For example, if I hit a dink that’s wide enough to be ATP’d, it’s helpful to let my partner know as early as possible with a call like 'wide' or 'watch it.
Remember, your partner’s gotta watch the ball and their opponents, if you communicate early you’re giving them and your team an advantage. Plus, you’re being a better team player.
And, who doesn’t love a team player?
