🌎 Pickleball’s World Cup lands in Florida—with Olympic dreams attached

Big news on the international stage: the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) has teamed up with the Pickleball World Cup to create the sport’s biggest global showdown yet.

This year’s event runs October 27–November 2, 2025, at The FORT in Fort Lauderdale—a brand-new pickleball mega-venue.

And the numbers are wild: more than 3,000 players from 60+ countries are set to battle it out for national pride. Last year’s World Cup in Peru drew 33 nations—so, yeah, the growth is off the charts.

The partnership isn’t just about hosting a bigger party. The GPF hopes this alignment will help pave the way to something pickleball fans have been dreaming about: Olympic recognition. They officially filed an application with the IOC in June, aiming to get pickleball on the program for the 2032 Brisbane Games.

From this, two things are clear: pickleball is closer than ever to being celebrated on the national stage, and this is a landmark moment in the sport’s history.

🤫 Lynchburg welcomes exclusive club, 'The Secret Pickle'

A new business in Lynchburg is banking on the popularity of the country's fastest-growing sport with the launch of "The Secret Pickle," a private pickleball club.

Limited to about 100 members, in keeping with its name, the club will not use signage or social media for advertising, relying solely on word of mouth.
